I don't find anything wrong with giving dads neckties - in fact, I would love to receive a brown tie this year's Father's Day (I hope my wife and kids find this comment LOL). I'm pretty sure no matter how simple or bizarre your gift to your dad is, what matters is you love him enough to give him a present during these occasions!
