January is always a fun month at OOP! Jennifer and I hit the road to search for great new product, we gear up for Valentines day and we get to spend a little down time with the boys. This year we added opening the OOP!let into that mix. So it's no wonder I'm writing about January and it is already the first week of February.
Checkout the online OOP!let. We are adding products daily!!
First stop was New York City. We found a number of new jewelers. These necklaces (coming soon) are made of real flowers, by an old friend.
Hip, stylish, cool and reasonably priced. Love the bags. You will see a greater selection of bags this year.
Dakota takes an OOP!JUICE break while helping set up the OOP!let.
Once we got back from NYC we jumped right on the OOP!let project. Plan a trip if you've not been to the OOP!let yet. Bountiful, Bargains, Abound! Everything in the store (339 Ives St, Providence RI) is priced way below retail. The store is cute as heck. Brimming with deals on all things OOP!: Furniture, Jewels, craft and toys!
Jennifer contemplates taking the Cock Painting home.
The Painting by Sheri Broughton stayed at the OOP!let. More work by Sheri will be coming in March to the other two OOP! locations. I think the best thing about the OOP!let is the single treasures like this painting. We've decided when we have just a few pcs left and we will be waiting on new work to arrive we will send the last few items to the OOP!let were someone will get a deal!

Westminster st store Valentine Display
OOP!let was open and we had a day or two to setup the stores for Valentins Day. Our collection of love stuff 2008 is an inspired mix of fun, fancy, slightly naughty and of course all the fabulous jewels a girl could want.
Gorgeous lamps from Jana Ugone (RISD grad), ceramic bases and handpainted shades.
This garden bench will be arriving mid february.
Thinking spring we headed out to the great state of Pennsylvania to meet up with some old and new friends. Some of the countries best craft artisians who cross the line between country and contemporary craft exhibit their wares every January.

I wouldn't live anywhere else if I was a bird! Coming to OOP! Feb. 15th
We've asked Sheri Broughton to do a collection of American Flag Paintings. Look closely, the work on canvas is layered with Newspaper. These will be inspirational, patriotic and thought provoking
More paintings to get us thinking Spring by Sheri
Back home we take a few days to ski and sled with the boys!
Malen is all smiles as skiing has just kicked in. He now races Jennifer and wins!!
Dinner at Apsara with friends Karen and Tom
I feel the need for speed!
Bback to the OOP!let we restock lots.

Grandfather clock by Sarah Grant of Sticks and Angel and Devil Chair by Tim Gallagher both sold. More work by each coming soon
The Podium cabinet by David marsh replaces the clock and chair above.

Some wall pcs were sold and the sconce by Paul Teeples (one of my all time favorite OOP! artists) replaces what was sold. Jennifer and I have three sconces by Paul in our second floor hallway.
This 42 inch round table set is currently at the OOP!let too. Sorry I didn't have it set up, when I took the photo. It is a political chess set top. Dems vs Repubs. Hope your enjoying the debates as much as I am.
Now that the OOP!let is restocked and full of those brilliant Bargains again, We head off to New York for another show.
This hand blown orb is 12" in diameter. Absolutely spectacular and coming soon to OOP!
Finally as I head back to Providence I am thinking of Valentines Day and even further into Spring. I am excited about all the new OOP! finds coming very soon. 6 more weeks of winter, so it wont be long...... We will be at the Shi Shi Shack (our beach house), enjoying all South County has to offer and strolling along Westminster enjoying the art, culture, shops, and warmer temps.
Cheers, David
