Festival Fete presents Jonathan Almond, a self taught watercolor artist. Jonathan began painting in 1995 while leading a study travel trip to the Middle East as president of the Society of Biblical Studies. Along with being a retired United Methodist clergyman and a former (full time) pastor for forty-one years, Jonathan Almond is a well traveled, knowledgeable painter with some serious talent!
Jonathan paints scenes from places he has traveled including Rhode Island, canyon lands of the desert Southwest, Europe, Africa, and New Zealand as well as various railroad scenes. Jonathan has received awards from Paint America's Parks and The Warren Art Festival. His artwork has also been used as covers for a variety of magazines!
When he's not painting, Jonathan enjoys gardening, growing dahlias, playing with his grandchildren, traveling, and building model trains.
