Festival Fete is excited to present Andrea Ehret, a talented toy designer, illustrator and jewelry maker. Andrea is originally from Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia, but has been living in Rhode Island for about six years now. She has earned two BFA degrees, one in Illustration from The Ringling College of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida and the other in Toy Design from Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles, California.
For her profession, Andrea designs toys for Hasbro. However, we are huge fans of her jewelry! Andrea began creating and designing jewelry as a creative outlet. Her jewelry is usually made of things she finds from flea markets, antique stores and consignment stores. Andrea uses upcycled items such as buttons, doilies, keys, beads and game pieces, making each piece truly original.
Andrea's favorite vacation spot is Sarasota, Florida and her favorite restaurant is Gracies in Providence, Rhode Island. She designs toys for the Littlest Pet Shop Brand, she can walk on her hands and she loves antiquing. She also used to work at the Tower of Terror at Walt Disney World!
You can see more of Andrea Ehret's original jewelry by visiting her ETSY site at www.etsy.com/shop/stringnthings.
And of course, you can see Andrea's work by attending The Garden City Center Art Festival on June 11, 2011 and by "liking" our Festival Fete Facebook Page!
