Festival Fete presents Alecia Underhill, a professional artist and illustrator specializing in equine subject matter. Alecia is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and an associate member of the American Academy of Equine Art. She works primarily in oils, with occasional forays into other media. Alecia is represented by Studio 47 Art Gallery in Woodstock, Vermont and she also participates in many invitational and juried shows throughout the country.
Though horses are her specialty, she also has a fondness for painting cats, dogs, cows and chickens. She has done illustration work for the AHSA and Reeves International, maker of Breyer horses. Additionally, Alecia is the illustrator of “For Horse Crazy Girls Only” released by Macmillan publishing in Fall of 2010. Alecia’s home is in Thompson, Connecticut, where she and her family share the farm with a Morgan mare, an English Shepherd dog, two cats and a flock of chickens.
Alecia's detail in her paintings truly brings the subject matter to life. Although horses are her specialty, her paintings depict beautiful illustrations of an array of animals. Alecia's paintings are guaranteed to satisfy the eyes of any animal or art lover out there!
You can check out more of Alecia's original paintings by visiting her WEBSITE or by "liking" her Facebook Page!
And of course, you can see more of Alecia's work by coming out and supporting your local artists at the Garden City Center Art Festival on June 11, 2011!

I love your work!! I have your print of the bay with the fence and it looks like my Morgan mare. Now I see a palomino looking remarkably like my old girl that I just lost. Perhaps someday I can add that one to hang beside the bay. Your art is wonderful! I admire and yes, envy your talent.
